We Support believe in the active encouragement of daily participation in community based social activities and by this we don’t mean the institutionalised approach of set daily group activities!
Every individual supported by We Support has their own personalised flexible activity schedule which is based around social activities that are age and gender appropriate whilst always taking into account their personal likes.
At We Support we offer a multitude of choices to an individual to ensure that should they wish to access the community they are able to and we do this by offering a choice of individual activities every day of the week alongside the option to participate in group based activities when they are operated during the week. This means that should an individual not wish to participate in any of the group based activities that are in operation on a particular day we can still offer a wide range of individual activities that they may wish to participate in with the support of their staff.
At We Support we always encourage and aim to facilitate community access every day of the week and we have an ever increasing list of community based social activities that form the basis of an individuals activity planner, some of our social activities include but are not limited to;
- Swimming
- Cycling (Adapted Bikes)
- Horse Riding
- Sensory Rooms
- Discos
- Cinema
- Bowling
- Country Walks
- Arts & Crafts
- Community Gardening, Horticulture and Wildlife Projects
- Petting Farms
- Ice Skating
- Go Karting
- Boxercise
- Gym
- Youth Clubs
Aside from the regular daily activities listed above we regularly organise day trips further afield such as to the seaside during the summer months, we have in the past organised a group trip to Blackpool Illuminations and have even supported individuals to attend concerts by their favourite artists and musicians. A number of our supported living services have had holidays together as a household and we do aim to encourage every individual who we support to go on holiday annually whether that be with our support or with family members.
